Boken raden hämtades ur var The History of Islamic Political Thought: From the Prophet to the Present. Faktiskt en av de bästa om Islams historia. Väldigt amerikanskt pedagogiskt upplagd med tydliga kapitel och underkapitel. Alltså ingen av alla dessa tråkiga böcker som försöker klämma ihop allt under så knepiga kapitelrubriker som helst - och med så mycket och rörigt innehåll som helst. Vad tycks om följande kapitelrubriker t ex:

Det finns väldigt få lika bra böcker om ämnet, som är upplagda på lika perfekta uppslagsboksmässiga sätt. Men följande är också bra, fast den behandlar teologiska historien istället för den politiska (även om det inom Islam finns mån galikheter dem emellan): The History of Islamic Theology from Muhammad to the Present av Hilman Nagel (Nagel Hilman?). Ja, som synes var jag en verkligt tråkig person som endast hade facklitteratur liggande på golvet i min närhet. Men som tur fanns det verkligen ord på den femte raden - men det var den sista raden på den sidan ...
Usch, nu när jag hoppat på dylika trender känner jag mig som en skändad åttaårig flicka :(

Boken? Introduction to Magic av Julius Evola and the UR group.
Det visade sig så roligt att när jag hittade boken som jag glömt i bokhyllan hemma så innehöll den en del om Buddhistisk esoterism och tibetansk initiatorisk lära.
Kändes som det var meningen att jag skulle hitta boken igår... Den låg nu i min väska bredvid skrivbordet här på kontoret. :)
Skriv gärna en pregnant artikel om Evolas syn på ras. Som behandlar sådant som hur mycket Evola var ett barn av sin tid och hur man bör tolka hans rastänkande idag.
vore naturligtvis intressant, det där med evolas rassyn. men frågan är om det inte vore roligare att i detalj beskriva evolas och guénons läderbögaftnar i skuggan av casablancas kryddoftande kvälmande svettvarma sommarnätter ... eller vad säger du? ;-)
